Persona Information:
A welsh merchant's daughter. I live in Beaumaris on the Isle of Anglesley. Father was a Welsh merchant, mother was a Cornish herb grower and seller. I am named Merouda (Cornish) after my mother. All the women in my mother's line have been named Merouda, as far back as anyone can remember. My parents loved each other dearly but my father already had a wife. At my mother's death from fever when I was 5, my father claimed me as his and took me in to his home. His wife took me in readily as they had no children of their own. She taught me needlework, culinary arts, and how to take care of a manor home and lands. She was kind to me and never treated me as another woman's child. I believe she loved me as much as my father did. Alas, neither my father or step-mother were to survive past my 25th year. According to Welsh law, I inherited all. If a father claims an illegitimate child, the child is considered legitimate under Welsh law. Unfortunately this is not recognized in England. In England, I must have a husband to make me as legitimate as possible but it's unlikely a husband of any rank would want a bastard for a wife. So I happily endure, keeping myself busy with more needlework, church works, cooking, and making my home a comfortable and lovely place to be.
