Persona Information:
Vacillating. Like the idea of Byzantine in the time of Irene. Grew up in Iran and fond of anything even remotely Persian or Turkish in nature (and in Tucson most everyone goes middle eastern for summer, anyway). Love the look of 1500s Venetian; and although not necessarily period, very early Cavalier.
SCA Interests:
Sewing, including but not ever limited to: Blackwork, needlelace, durable period-looking camp wear for adults and smalls. Filk and the presentation of same. Brewing; cooking/feasting on the large scale (300 or more). Candle and soap making. What My Lord calls "effective transporting and camping research with an emphasis on luxuriousness". Currently attempting and researching in effort to organize and restructure look/feel of camp within our household so as not as modern in appearance. Historical reading, especially regarding Henry VIII or Catherine of Aragon, and the ever-popular dysfunctional family Plantagenet. Some interest in jewelry making. Want to learn court dancing as soon as back surgery site heals sufficiently. Learning Psaltery slowly. Recently developed an obsession for hats and feathers.
