18 Aug 2001 -- Whew. I just went through the Links page and verified all the links, redirecting the ones I could track down and deleting the ones that had gone poof. Later I'll be sorting them and posting the page again. I just finished setting up the quickie article written by Margery La Affayte on medievalesque articles for sale at Dharma Trading. I've entitled it Dharma & Garb -- couldn't resist, didn't try.
23 June 2001 -- Oops. It's been almost a year. I swear, there have been updates. I just haven't recorded them. Today, I went through my sumptuary laws article and updated the links, as well as adding Agnes von Frundsberg, Liora eishet Yehoshua, Giovanna Mancuso, and Margaret Hepburn of Ardrossan to the Who's Who! Yay!
7 July 2000 -- Well, I'm not in Pennsic Panic yet... but give me time. Today I managed to get the index page up with the help of my wonderful fiance, with links to the mini-article about the plaid cotehardies and to Mistress Cori's article on Houpelande and Burgundian Clothing Construction.
2 June 2000 -- It's been a busy day. I put up the totally cute photos Ciorstan took of her adorable daughter Kirsten to illustrate reverse facings, and I added Aldiana, Aurelien, and Arianne to the Who's Who. I also posted my collection of SCA Clothing Myths.
Also, in a semi-uncharacteristic personal decision, I have put links to the Double-click Opt-out page at the top of every page on this site in response to my realization that the Freeservers ad banners are Double-Click banners. When you click on a Double-Click ad banner, they put a cookie on your machine that follows you around the Internet (so to speak) and records your surfing habits for Double-Click's marketing department. I have opted out of Double-Click, and I encourage everyone to do so. I hope that by making the Double-Click opt-out page so abundantly available, I will make it that much easier to do. I have few political views, but maintaining a modicum of privacy on the Internet is one of them.
31 May 2000 -- Golly, it's been a while. Today I put up a message board off this page so folks can swap outgrown children's garb. Enjoy!
17 April 2000 -- Yet more updates to the Who's Who: Maddalena and Flora. It was brought to my attention that A Brief History of That Most Delectable of Subjects: Codpieces originally found under Research Links, is not in fact serious research but a spoof. Oops -- my bad. I've moved it to Humor. So-rryyyy!!!
10 April 2000 -- More updates to the Who's Who: Abigail, Larsellen, and Merouda!
30 March 2000: Further updates to the Who's Who -- Rowena, Madilayn, and Sister Ed! There will be further updates next week.
27 March 2000: Mistress Cori's instructions for a fitted, supportive kirtle and how to wrap a headrail now grace our articles pages!
18 Mar 2000: More Who's Who! (Are you sensing a theme?)
15 March 2000: Still more Who's Who entries... this is fantastic!
14 March 2000: Rearranged the index page to put the administrative links at the top and bottom.
13 March 2000 (more): Added more folks to the Who's Who (keep 'em coming!) and posted the Welcome Letter I received when I subscribed in the hope that people will actually read it and use it.
13 March 2000 (just past midnight): Added five more members to the Who's Who! This is so cool! Keep 'em coming, folks!
12 March 2000: The first five folks are up on our Who's Who! My wonderful lord just pointed out that I haven't put up my own entry yet; in my efforts to get Freeservers to realize that I was in fact uploading data, I plumb forgot. Maybe tomorrow. Take a look; tell me what you think! Email me!
31 Jan 2000: Our noble list owner sent me her fantastic article on The Ten-Gore Dress: Cotehardies from Herjolfsnes. Check it out, it's terrific.
30 Jan 2000: Oh, boy, kids, we're rocking now! I just added SEARCH CAPABILITY to our web page! Come try it out! I think that as we expand and grow, this is really going to become important.
27-28 January 2000: I wrote an article on Heraldic Tabards & Surcotes. Hope it helps.
22 Jan 2000: I changed the graphic in the sarafan article to more accurately reflect the way the thing's supposed to be cut. I've been teaching all sorts of things for a long time, but I am now reminded the difference between showing someone how to do something and writing instructions (for anything more complex than a recipe, anyway). Thanks for the forbearance, folks.
20 Jan 2000: Busy night -- I fixed all those broken links on the index page. Unfortunately, I didn't have much content to put in there, but at least now the links lead somewhere.
18-19 Jan 2000: Yep, you got it; I updated at midnight-ish. Funny how my personal clock changes when I'm not working. Anyway, as you probably guessed, I created a proper index page. Let me know what you think.
15 Jan 2000: Posted an updated version of the List FAQ.
12 Jan 2000 (just barely!): Posted You Know You're A Garbaholic When... by Gwenllyan and the members of SCA-Garb.
11 Jan 2000: Posted Fabric Addicts Anonymous and The Hunting of the Snark, or, The Agonizing 8 Fittings, courtesy of Drea Leed. Good stuff! It would seem that I need to move the sumptuary laws and customs project up in my priority order; it would appear that there is a need. I really must design a front page...
10 Jan 2000: Posted The Russian Sarafan, which I wrote this afternoon. I also removed the background color, which I intended to look like yellowed parchment, but I have decided instead looks like dried yellow mustard. I'm still working on sorting through over 600 bookmarks that I downloaded. I got the A's done...
02 Jan 2000: Posted Mailing List FAQ.
Posted Costuming For Larger Figures, by Madilayn de Mer.
Posted How To Make Self-Supporting Bodices, by Eloise of Tree-Girt-Sea.
Put up a counter and a guestbook.
31 Dec 1999: Received two articles: "Costuming For Larger Figures," from Madilayn de le Mer, and "How To Make Self-Supporting Bodices," from Eloise of Tree-Girt Sea. Also received 39 links for the links page from Lasairiona inghean ui Chaiside. These will be posted as soon as possible -- with the holiday, time to code might be a little short.
30 Dec 1999: Chose a name for the page, but nothing's set in stone. Established architecture for the site and put out a call for content to the SCA-Garb list.
29 Dec 1999: Volunteered to start this page. Made appointment to get my head examined. ;-)
